Charitable Giving: NEAR & FAR AID is an all volunteer organization dedicated to end poverty in Fairfield County. Near & Far Aid provides funding for projects that address the causes and effects of poverty in Fairfield County. Their grants support over 130 critical need programs that help families at risk, adults in crisis, homelessness, elderly care and other select categories.
Over the past 17 consecutive years, Pequot Travel Ltd has dedicated six months a year working with 5* Deluxe properties worldwide to donate to the Near & Far Aid Spring Gala. This effort has raised over $1.5 million to be granted to critical need charities.
Held at Mitchell's in Westport CT every March, $11 million has been raised and granted over just the past 11 years. This exciting event has been a great success - for specific information visit http://nearandfaraid.org/ .
