Pequot Travel's Charitable Efforts
Near & Far Aid
At the Near & Far Aid Spring Gala, held annually at Mitchells in Westport CT, we have consistantly contributed a large percentage of the money raised - one year we were proud to be the largest contributer. This event has raised over $1 million dollars annually for several years and is extremely important to the charity.
This is an all volunteer organization with 100% of the net proceeds going straight to over 100 charitable agencies.
The support goes to those with critical needs through programs that address families at risk, adults in crisis, homelessness, elderly care, child care and guidance.
Make-a-Wish of CT Pequot Travel has been chosen as the Travel Experts to manage all their International Travel.
Westport Country Playhouse Pequot Travel has been chosen as the Travel Agency to help raise funds at their annual event in September to keep this local icon as the premier playhouse outside of Manhattan.

to Host Gala Evening at the Westport Country Playhouse

Julia Roberts will host the annual gala for Westport Country Playhouse, Westport, CT (Joanne Woodward and Anne Keefe, artistic directors, Jodi Schoenbrun Carter, managing director) on Monday, September 15.
The evening’s entertainment, “Footlights and Film: A Celebration of the Great Musicals from Stage and Screen,” will feature star-studded performances by talents to be announced and honor Bob and Suzanne Wright. Gala chairs are Westporters Laurie Lister and Judd Burstein, and Sharon Sullivan and Jeff Kindler.
“We are thrilled that a star of Julia Roberts’ magnitude will host an array of premier artists from stage and screen to benefit the historic Westport Country Playhouse,” said Anne Keefe, Playhouse artistic director. “This will be a one-of-a-kind entertainment and social event that is not to be missed.”
Beginning at 6 p.m., the celebratory evening will include a cocktail reception, a star-studded musical performance in the Playhouse’s Jason Robards Theatre, dinner with celebrity guests and silent auction.
Funds raised by the event will further artistic and educational programming at Westport Country Playhouse, now open year-round. Benefit tickets are $2,000. Corporate and individual Benefactor and Leader tables with seating for 10 are $25,000 and $50,000. Reservations are limited by the intimate size of the theatre.
| Near & Far Aid Association is an all-volunteer fund-raising and fund-granting organization dedicated to meeting the critical needs of our communities, primarily within Fairfield County, CT.
Near & Far Aid grants help provide aid to children, adults in crisis, the elderly, the homeless and those in need of education, job training and community health services.
Since the year 2000, Near & Far Aid has granted over $7 million to charitable agencies serving those with critical needs.
This year we granted a record amount of almost $1.3 million to these critical needs agencies within Fairfield County. Please see our Grant Guidelines for all agency requirements to secure funding. |
